Department of Meteorology Warns of Thundery Rain, Strong Wind Offshore Tonight


Doha: Weather inshore tonight until 6:00 am on Sunday will be partly cloudy to cloudy with scattered rain at places at times and relatively cold by night, the Department of Meteorology said in its daily weather report. Offshore, it will be cloudy to partly cloudy with a chance of scattered rain; maybe thundery at times, the Department of Meteorology added, warning of thundery rain and strong wind. Wind inshore will be northwesterly at a speed of 05 to 15 knots gusting to 22 knots at times. Offshore, it will be northwesterly at a speed of 12 to 22 knots, gusting to 30 knots at times. The visibility will be 05 to 9 kilometers. The sea state inshore will be 2 to 4 feet surging to 5 feet at places. Offshore, it will be 4 to 7 feet surging to 10 feet at places.



According to Qatar News Agency, the Department of Meteorology has advised residents and those venturing offshore to exercise caution due to expected weather conditions. The advisory emphasizes that thundery rain and strong winds can create hazardous conditions, particularly for maritime activities. The agency reiterated the importance of staying informed through official channels and being prepared for sudden weather changes.
