Doha: HE Minister of Public Health Mansoor bin Ebrahim bin Saad Al Mahmoud emphasized that Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF) is an integral part of the development of the State of Qatar’s educational and healthcare systems, highlighting its pioneering role in global healthcare, particularly through its genomic research in collaboration with the Ministry and relevant national entities, which has strengthened the State’s leading position in precision medicine and contributed to building a healthy and active community.
According to Qatar News Agency, on QF’s 30th anniversary, His Excellency stated that Qatar Foundation has successfully fostered a culture of precision healthcare among the residents of Qatar and the Arab region. Its leading role in conducting genetic research has been instrumental in transforming medical knowledge into practical applications, directly improving individual health, adding that the Foundation recently crowned its efforts by launching the Qatar Precision Medicine Institute.
His Excellency continued that Qatar Foundation, additionally, plays a key role in developing cancer treatments, identifying the genetic causes of common neurological disorders in the region, formulating national policies to combat obesity, and exchanging knowledge with health experts worldwide, which deepens dialogue and enhances national efforts to address common global health challenges.
He noted that the designation of QF’s Education City as a “Healthy City” by the World Health Organization (WHO) is a testament to the fruitful cooperation between the Ministry of Public Health and Qatar Foundation, reflecting their joint efforts to promote public health and sustainability.
His Excellency concluded by expressing his pride of Qatar Foundation’s commitment and efforts in building a healthier community in Qatar and a healthier world, calling for enhancing the mutual cooperation in the coming years.
