Department of Meteorology Warns of Thundery Rain, Strong Wind

Doha: The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning about the weather conditions expected until 6:00 pm on Thursday. Inshore areas are forecasted to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with a potential for scattered rain, possibly thundery at times. The warning emphasizes the likelihood of thundery rain accompanied by strong winds.

According to Qatar News Agency, offshore conditions are also expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy with a chance of scattered rain, potentially thundery. The report highlights the risk of thundery rain combined with strong winds and high seas. Inshore winds will predominantly be southeasterly to northeasterly at 10-20 KT, with speeds reaching up to 28 KT during thundery rain. Offshore winds are expected to be southeasterly to northeasterly at 10-20 KT, gusting to 30 KT with thundery rain.

The sea state inshore is anticipated to be between 2-4 ft, increasing to 5 ft during thundery rain. Offshore, the sea state is forecasted to range from 3-6 ft, rising to 10 ft with thundery rain. Visibility inshore is projected to be between 4-9 km, reducing to 3 km or less during thundery rain, while offshore visibility is expected to follow the same pattern.
