Doha: The draw for the 2025-2026 Futsal Cup and League championships took place on Monday. It was attended by officials from the Qatar Football Association (QFA), representatives of the participating clubs, and former futsal stars. Conducted with the participation of former national futsal team player Salem Khalifa Salem, the draw divided the teams into two groups. Group A included Al Shamal, Al Arabi, Al Wakrah, and Al Gharafa, while Group B comprised Al Ahli, Al Khor, Al Rayyan, and Qatar SC.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Cup Championship is scheduled to begin on October 15, with matches to be held at the association hall in Al Wakrah. The full match schedule and times will be announced later. The tournament system involves the top two teams in each group advancing to the semi-finals, with the winners qualifying for the final.
The first week of the league championship draw was also held following the Cup draw ceremony. Scheduled matches for December 21 and 22 will see Al Ahli meeting Al Wakrah, Qatar SC taking on Al Khor on the first day, Al Rayyan playing Al Shamal, and Al Arabi facing Al Gharafa on the second day. The full match schedule and times will be announced later.
In a statement, Director of the Futsal and Beach Soccer Department at the QFA Ibrahim Shaheen Al Sulaiti expressed his happiness at the return of futsal competitions after a hiatus. The Cup Championship will begin on October 15, followed by the league championship in December. He hoped that the championship would contribute to the discovery of new futsal talents, thanking the association's referees department for its role in preparing futsal referees in an ideal time. He hoped that both tournaments would provide a distinguished contingent of players capable of representing the national team in the future.
