DRC Sees Significant Decline in New Cases of Monkeypox

Kinshasa: Health authorities in the Democratic Republic of Congo said that there was a noticeable decrease in the number of monkeypox cases recently. They mentioned that the weekly number of new cases declined from 2,000 a week at the outset of the outbreak to the current pace of between 250 to 300 cases a week.

According to Qatar News Agency, this reduction marks a crucial change in the trajectory of the outbreak. The health authorities have been actively monitoring the situation and implementing measures to control the spread of the virus. The decline in cases is seen as a result of these efforts, although officials continue to urge caution and vigilance.

The Democratic Republic of Congo has been one of the countries most affected by the monkeypox outbreak. The health authorities have been working closely with international health organizations to manage the situation and provide support to affected regions. The current decrease in cases provides a positive outlook, but continuous efforts are necessary to maintain and further this progress.
