Education Above All Foundation Hosts Key Sessions at World Social Summit in Doha

Doha: The Education Above All (EAA) Foundation, a global education and development organization, has spearheaded two influential sessions on the second day of the Second World Summit for Social Development, currently taking place in Doha.

According to Qatar News Agency, the sessions, held in collaboration with international partners, centered on innovative financing for education and integrated approaches to climate resilience, poverty eradication, and inclusion. These discussions align with EAA's mission to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education for all.

The Reach Out To All (ROTA) program, in partnership with SLNI, UNDP, UNICEF, the POWER Foundation, the Commission on the Status of Women Geneva, and the Permanent Mission of the Republic of The Gambia to the United Nations, organized a significant session titled "Learning for Climate Resilience: Integrated Pathways for Poverty Eradication, Jobs and Inclusion". This discussion highlighted the essential role of education in tackling interconnected issues such as poverty, unemployment, and climate vulnerability. The session showcased integrated models that merge literacy, vocational training, and environmental awareness, empowering youth and women, especially in fragile, climate-affected areas, to lead community-based solutions for sustainable development and inclusion.

The panel featured global and youth leaders committed to advancing the education 'climate nexus. Notable speakers included Assistant Secretary-General and Director of the Regional Bureau for Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States, UNDP Ivana Zivkovic; Director for the Gulf Area, UNICEF Lana Al Wreikat; and HE Permanent Representative of the Republic of The Gambia to the United Nations Muhammadou M.O. Kah, among others.

In another pivotal session, EAA Foundation, in partnership with the OECD, convened a session titled "From Silos to Synergy: Unlocking Education Financing Through Philanthropy". This event examined the potential of Public-Private-Philanthropy Partnerships (PPPPs) to bridge the USD 97 billion annual education financing gap in low- and lower-middle-income countries. The session explored collaborative efforts among philanthropic actors, governments, and development institutions to create co-funding models that advance Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education).

CEO of the Education Above All Foundation Mohammed Al Kubaisi emphasized the foundation's commitment to making education a catalyst for equality, resilience, and opportunity. He stated that the sessions at the summit demonstrate how inclusive and quality education can pave the way to decent work, stability, and sustainable development.

On the final day of the Summit, the Educate A Child (EAC) program, in collaboration with UNICEF, will host a session titled "Education is a Key Pillar for Poverty Eradication, Employment, and Social Inclusion". This session will highlight the transformative power of education in driving progress across sustainable development dimensions, underscoring its role in enabling equitable and resilient societies.

The panel will include prominent international leaders such as HE Minister of Education of the Republic of Liberia Dr. Jarso Maley Jallah, Deputy Executive Director at UNICEF Omar Abdi, and CEO, Education Above All Foundation Mohammed Al Kubaisi. They will discuss how cross-sectoral collaboration and innovative financing can ensure education remains a force for inclusion, resilience, and shared prosperity.
