Egyptian Foreign Minister Advocates for Regional Stability in Call with Greek Counterpart

Egypt: Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr Abdelatty, held a phone call on Friday with his Greek counterpart, Giorgos Gerapetritis, to discuss the latest regional developments as well as ways to strengthen bilateral relations.

According to Qatar News Agency, during the call, Abdelatty emphasized the urgency to advance the second phase of the US president's plan concerning the Gaza Strip and to support the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza. He highlighted the necessity of deploying an international stabilization force to ensure adherence to the ceasefire, which he described as crucial for facilitating early recovery and reconstruction efforts. Additionally, he stressed the importance of increasing the flow of humanitarian aid into the Strip due to the worsening humanitarian conditions.

Addressing broader regional issues, Abdelatty reiterated Egypt's unwavering support for diplomatic efforts and the continuation of negotiations between the United States and Iran. He urged both countries to avoid escalation and emphasized resolving differences concerning Iran's nuclear file through negotiations, steering clear of military solutions to support regional and international security and stability.

The two ministers underscored the importance of continued coordination and consultation within the strategic relations between their countries and supporting efforts aimed at de-escalation in the region. They maintained that diplomatic solutions are essential to prevent further instability.
