Cairo: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty discussed regional developments in light of the military escalation in the Middle East, as well as ways to strengthen relations between Egypt and the European Union, in a phone call today with European Union's Commissioner for the Mediterranean, Dubravka Sevic.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry stated in a press release that Abdelatty briefed the European official on Egypt's position regarding the regional developments amidst the dangerous military escalation in the region. He emphasized the importance of regional and international efforts to de-escalate tensions, prioritize diplomatic and political solutions, and resort to dialogue and diplomacy to contain the situation. Furthermore, he cautioned against the conflict's potential to widen, which could undermine the security and stability of both the region and the European Union.
