Doha: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held a phone call Wednesday with President Volodymyr Zelensky to discuss developments in the Russia-Ukraine crisis, the situation in the Middle East, and ways to enhance bilateral relations across various fields. According to a statement by the Egyptian presidency, President El Sisi emphasized during the call the importance of diplomatic and political solutions and prioritizing dialogue to resolve the ongoing Russia-Ukraine crisis. He reaffirmed Egypt's full support for all efforts aimed at reaching a peaceful settlement as soon as possible.
According to Qatar News Agency, regarding efforts to restore stability in the region, both leaders stressed the need to uphold the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran and to return to the negotiating table to resolve the crisis peacefully. President El Sisi also discussed Egypt's ongoing efforts to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid.
