EU Plans Extraordinary Summit on Ukraine on March 6

Brussels: European Union leaders will meet for an extraordinary summit on March 6 to discuss additional support for Ukraine and European security concerns. "We are living a defining moment for Ukraine and European security," President of the European Council Antonio Costa said on X.

According to Qatar News Agency, Costa emphasized the shared commitment among European leaders to address these challenges at the EU level, focusing on strengthening European defense and contributing decisively to peace on the continent and the long-term security of Ukraine. He mentioned ongoing cooperation with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and all EU Member States to prepare for decisions at the upcoming summit.

The decision to hold the European summit comes amid growing concern over the US stance on the Russia-Ukraine war and its decision to begin negotiations with Russia to end the conflict without involving the European side.
