Doha: European stocks rose at the start of trading on Monday, after ending last week with losses. The European STOXX 600 index opened up 0.2 percent, reaching 545.87 points and starting the week on a positive note.
According to Qatar News Agency, the energy sector was among the biggest gainers, with the sector's index rising 1.1 percent, driven by higher oil prices. The travel and leisure sector also saw gains, recovering and rising by 1.0 percent.
As for other European indices, the UK's FTSE 100 rose by 0.27 percent, while the French CAC 40 and German DAX each gained about 0.35 percent.
