Doha: The Swiss U-17 national team secured a 3-1 victory over Mexico on Monday in the third round of Group F matches at the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025, currently taking place in Doha. With the win, Switzerland moved to 7 points, claiming the top spot in the group and securing qualification to the Round of 32. Meanwhile, Mexico remained on 3 points in third place, awaiting conclusion of the group stage to determine their fate. The tournament rules advance the top two teams from each group, along with the best eight third-placed teams, to the Round of 32.
According to Qatar News Agency, in the other Group F match of the round, South Korea defeated Ivory Coast 3-1. The Korean side also reached 7 points, placing second on goal difference behind Switzerland, while Ivory Coast finished bottom of the group with no points, exiting the tournament.
