Gaza Media Office Warns Damaged Buildings Are Ticking Time Bombs

Doha: The Government Media Office in Gaza has issued a warning that the Strip is on the brink of a full humanitarian collapse. Thousands of structurally damaged buildings, which are currently sheltering displaced families, have been described as ticking time bombs.

According to Qatar News Agency, Ismail Al Thawabta, the Director General, has placed responsibility for the disaster on the Israeli occupation and the international community. This follows a tragic incident where a six-story building collapsed onto displaced families, which Al Thawabta described as part of systematic killing. He highlighted that rescue operations are currently paralyzed due to the blockade on heavy equipment, spare parts, and fuel entering the Strip.

Al Thawabta further revealed that over 8,500 individuals are still missing under the rubble across Gaza. He has called for immediate international intervention to lift the siege, open crossings, and allow the entry of essential civil defense and rescue equipment into the enclave.
