Doha: Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi held discussions with Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, focusing on cooperation relations and the strategic partnership between the GCC and China.
According to Qatar News Agency, the dialogue explored avenues for developing cooperation in economic, commercial, and investment sectors, aiming to strengthen ties between the two entities to achieve mutual interests. The Secretary General emphasized the significance that the GCC countries place on enhancing cooperation with China, acknowledging it as a vital international partner.
He commended the trade exchange and investment cooperation levels between the GCC and China, highlighting the role of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade in solidifying this partnership. Albudaiwi noted that the interest of major Chinese companies in investing in the GCC reflects the region's promising investment prospects and its stable economic environment. This interest is seen as reinforcing the GCC's standing as a key strategic economic partner both regionally and globally.
Ren Hongbin expressed appreciation for the support and focus on Gulf-Chinese relations, affirming China's commitment to deepening cooperation with the GCC countries across various fields of common interest.
