Doha: German parachutists dominated the individual competitions at the 47th CISM World Military Parachuting Championships (CISM Qatar 2025), organized by the Qatar Air Sports Committee. The championships conclude tomorrow, Saturday, at Umm Shakhout Airport, with 320 parachutists representing 30 countries participating.
According to Qatar News Agency, the German team excelled in the individual accuracy landing and style competitions for junior men, women, and juniors, securing nine medals: three gold, three silver, and three bronze. The medals were won in the accuracy landing and style events for juniors, women, and juniors. The French team won four medals: two gold, one silver, and one bronze, while the Chinese team secured three medals: one gold, one silver, and one bronze. Austria earned a single silver medal in the junior style competition, and the Czech Republic took bronze in the men's style event.
In the junior women's accuracy landing competition, France's Louise Pal claimed first place, followed by her compatriot Nathalie Hanser in second, and Germany's Zoe Stoll in third. Chinese parachutist Yong Miao won gold in the women's accuracy landing competition, with France's Ludissy Oliver taking silver and China's Li Guoheng earning bronze.
Germany's Natalie Hanser won the women's individual sculls freestyle competition, with Zoe Stoll taking silver, and France's Louise Pal securing bronze. German skydiver Elias Kemer won gold in the men's individual sculls freestyle competition, with Austria's Michael Ubern and Germany's Magnus Stiller completing the podium.
In the women's individual sculls freestyle competition, France's Lucidy Oliver claimed gold, adding to her silver in the accuracy landing event. China's Yu Li finished second, with Germany's Natalie Hanser in third. German skydiver Robin Giesmar secured gold in the men's individual freestyle skydiving competition, followed by compatriot Alesha Weber in second and Czech skydiver Oldes Surf in third.
The awards ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including Brigadier General Mohammed Zayed Al Otaibi, President of the International Military Sports Council Colonel Nilton Gomez, Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Saeed Al Mansouri, and Captain Hazza Al Attiyah, along with several heads of participating delegations and members of the Qatar Air Sports Committee.
The Qatar Air Sports Committee received praise from the International Air Sports Council and participants for their hospitality and the quality of facilities, which reflected in the outstanding performances and skills displayed.
Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Al Mansouri commended the skydivers' performances and congratulated the winners, expressing pride in the successful organization of the championship in Qatar. Captain Hazza Hamad Al Attiyah highlighted the exceptional technical level and the championship's role as a global platform for cultural and sporting exchange.
