Gold Prices Decline in Early Trading as US-China Talks Continue


London: Gold declined on Tuesday as market participants awaited further developments from ongoing US-China trade talks in London. Spot gold fell 0.5% to $3,311.16 an ounce, as of 01:25 GMT. US gold futures also fell 0.7% to $3,330.90.



According to Qatar News Agency, elsewhere in the precious metals market, spot silver was down 0.6% to $36.51 per ounce, platinum dropped 0.8% to $1,210.46, while palladium fell 0.2% to $1,071.75. These fluctuations come amid high-level trade talks between the US and Chinese officials, which are extending into a second day. The discussions are covering a range of issues, including tariffs and rare earth restrictions, which have significant implications for global markets.
