Handball: Al Rayyan Suffers First Defeat of Season Against Al Arabi

Doha: Al Arabi SC handed Al Rayyan SC their first defeat in the Qatari Men's Handball League, winning 31-30 in a match held as part of the league's ninth round. According to Qatar News Agency, the match was closely contested, with the first half ending in a 16-16 draw. The second half remained evenly balanced until Al Arabi managed to score the winning goal in the final seconds of the game. With this victory, Al Arabi increased their point tally to 21 points, moving into second place, while Al Rayyan remained at the top of the standings with 22 points. However, Al Rayyan has played eight matches, whereas Al Arabi has played only seven. In another match, Al Gharafa defeated Al Ahli 38-31. This win brought Al Gharafa's total to 17 points, placing them fifth in the standings, while Al Ahli remained in third place with 21 points. Al Rayyan won the Qatari Men's Handball League title last season, with Al Arabi finishing as runners-up and Al Duhail securing third place.
