Hurricane Milton Strikes Florida’s Western Coast

Hurricane Milton struck the west coast of Florida near Siesta Key on Thursday morning as a Category 3 storm, according to the National Hurricane Center. Packing winds of 193 kilometers per hour, Milton had briefly reached Category 5 status as it approached Florida from the Gulf of Mexico but was downgraded to Category 3 before making landfall. The storm is expected to continue moving across the state from Florida's Gulf coast toward the Atlantic Ocean, with significant coastal damage anticipated. Due to the hurricane, President Biden has postponed his planned trip to Germany and Angola, which was scheduled to begin on Thursday. Source: Saudi Press Agency
