Indonesia: Indonesia condemned on Monday the killing of one of its soldiers and the wounding of three others serving with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), after a shell exploded at one of its positions near the village of Adshit al-Qusayr in southern Lebanon yesterday.
According to Qatar News Agency, harming UN peacekeepers is unacceptable, the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on X platform, reiterating its condemnation of Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon and calling for respect for Lebanon’s sovereignty. The Ministry added that the Indonesian government strongly condemns this incident and calls for a thorough and transparent investigation into the incident that resulted in the death of an Indonesian peacekeeper and the wounding of three others serving with UNIFIL.
It renewed its condemnation of Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon and called on all parties to respect Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, cease attacks on civilians and infrastructure, and return to dialogue and diplomacy to prevent further escalation and promote peace.
