UAE Air Defenses Intercept Missiles and Drones Launched from Iran


Abu dhabi: The United Arab Emirates’ Ministry of Defense has reported that its air defenses successfully intercepted 11 ballistic missiles and 27 drones over the country on Monday. These attacks were reportedly launched from Iran.



According to Qatar News Agency, the UAE Ministry of Defense detailed that since the onset of what it termed as “brazen Iranian attacks,” the country’s air defenses have intercepted a total of 425 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,941 drones. The ongoing conflict has resulted in the death of two UAE armed forces personnel, a Moroccan civilian contractor associated with the military, and eight civilians from Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi, and Palestinian nationalities.



The attacks have also left 178 people injured, with the severity of injuries ranging from minor to severe. The injured individuals are of various nationalities, highlighting the widespread impact of these incidents on the diverse population residing in the UAE.
