Baghdad: Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al Sudani met with Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Mohamed Al Hassan, in Baghdad to discuss developments in the region. The meeting focused on addressing the repercussions of the ongoing aggression against the Gaza Strip and the denial of humanitarian aid into the enclave.
According to Qatar News Agency, both leaders expressed concerns over the threat to regional and global security posed by attempts to expand the conflict by the Israeli entity. They also highlighted the recent targeting of Arab and Islamic nations, particularly mentioning the sisterly State of Qatar.
During the meeting, Al Sudani emphasized the international community’s responsibility to support regional stability and prevent further wars and crises. He highlighted the importance of maintaining communication and dialogue at regional and global levels to develop solutions for ongoing disputes and crises.
