Doha: The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MECC) has launched the national workshop on Integration of National Efforts for Preparing the First Transparency Report. This was held within Qatar Sustainability Week 2025, with participation from a multitude of representatives of relevant national entities.

According to Qatar News Agency, the workshop constitutes a significant outgrowth of Qatar's ongoing efforts to bolster climate transparency and fulfill its international obligations under the Paris Agreement on Climate Change. It aims to support institutional integration among various national stakeholders in preparing the report, a pivotal milestone in Qatar's pathway toward global climate action commitments.

The event explored a range of crucial themes, including regional and international cooperation to achieve the objectives of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), reviewing the outcomes of the Second National Report, and assessing progress toward preparing the First Transparency Report. It also examined the challenges and opportunities linked to the collection and analysis of national data.

It highlighted its collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and technical partners to develop effective mechanisms for preparing national climate reports, reflecting the nation's efforts in emissions reduction and promoting sustainable development.

The MECC further noted that the preparation of the report will enhance Qatar's readiness for the International Technical Review, reinforcing its position as a regional leader in climate transparency and accountability.

The workshop concluded by underscoring the imperative of strengthening coordination and the integration of roles among national entities.
