Doha: HE Assistant Undersecretary for Family Affairs at the Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF) Sheikha Sheikha bint Jassim Al-Thani emphasized the critical role of innovation and a human-centered approach in the development and enhancement of social services. She highlighted these points at a side event focused on innovation and human-centered approaches in social services, organized by the Governments of Uzbekistan and Turkiye in collaboration with UNICEF and the World Bank, as part of the Second World Summit for Social Development in Doha.
According to Qatar News Agency, Her Excellency pointed out that the ongoing global crises have revealed the inadequacy of traditional methods, necessitating the need for innovative solutions driven by digital transformation and a comprehensive human-centered methodology. Such solutions, she noted, are essential for swiftly addressing the needs of various groups, especially women, children, persons with disabilities, and the elderly, amidst challenges like limited resources and inadequate infrastructure in certain regions.
HE the Assistant Undersecretary elaborated on Qatar's integrated approach to enhancing social governance, which involves coordinating efforts among institutions, defining roles and service delivery protocols, and training social sector personnel to boost efficiency and professionalism. She highlighted Qatar's initiatives to modernize social service systems through unified electronic platforms that facilitate direct communication between beneficiaries and service providers, offering comprehensive psychological, social, and advisory support.
Furthermore, she underscored that Qatar's national strategy for social development (2025-2030) prioritizes empowering key groups, including women, children, persons with disabilities, and the elderly. The strategy aims to provide a fair and inclusive social environment, promoting social inclusion and reducing disparities among different groups by integrating care and empowerment.
In her concluding remarks, HE Sheikha Sheikha bint Jassim Al-Thani expressed her gratitude to the Governments of Uzbekistan and Turkiye, as well as UNICEF and the World Bank, for hosting this significant event. She reaffirmed Qatar's commitment to leading international efforts to develop sustainable social welfare systems, strengthening community resilience against future challenges, and fostering a more inclusive and equitable future.
