Meteorology Warns of Strong Winds and High Seas Offshore Until Friday Noon

Doha: The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning regarding strong winds and high seas offshore, which are expected to persist until Friday noon. In its daily weather report, the department highlighted that inshore conditions will range from relatively hot to hot throughout the day with intermittent cloud cover, while offshore areas will experience scattered clouds.

According to Qatar News Agency, the inshore winds are anticipated to be northwesterly to northeasterly, blowing at speeds of 5-15 knots, with gusts potentially reaching up to 20 knots at times. Offshore, winds will predominantly be northwesterly, ranging from 7-17 knots, with gusts of up to 22 knots expected until midday.

Sea conditions inshore are predicted to vary from 1 to 3 feet, escalating to approximately 5 feet by noon. Offshore, the sea will fluctuate between 2 and 4 feet, rising to as high as 7 feet during the same timeframe. Visibility for both inshore and offshore areas is expected to range between 5 and 10 kilometers.
