AlUla: On the sidelines of his participation in the AlUla Conference for Emerging Market Economies held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, HE Minister of Finance, Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, met separately with HE Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Abdolnaser Hemmati; HE Minister of Finance of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Fernando Haddad; HE Minister of Finance of Ukraine, Sergii Marchenko; HE Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Kristalina Georgieva; and HE Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Olayemi Cardoso.
According to Qatar News Agency, during these meetings, a range of topics related to mutual interests in the financial, economic, and investment sectors were discussed, in addition to several issues of mutual concern. Discussions also focused on ways to expand the scope of cooperation between the State of Qatar and Iran, Brazil, Ukraine, Nigeria, and the International Monetary Fund respectively.
The AlUla Conference on Emerging Market Economies, organized by the Saudi Ministry of Finance and the International Monetary Fund, brings together a select group of finance ministers, central bank governors, policymakers from emerging markets, as well as leaders from the public and private sectors, international institutions, and academia.
This high-level annual event provides a unique opportunity to exchange views on local, regional, and global economic developments and to discuss policies and reforms aimed at promoting inclusive prosperity and building resilience through effective international cooperation.
