Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Inaugurates International Exhibition for Non-Profit Sector ‘IENA 2024’


Riyadh: Under the patronage of Governor of the Riyadh Region Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Center for the Development of the Non-Profit Sector, Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi, inaugurated the International Exhibition for the Non-Profit Sector “IENA 2024” in Riyadh.

The event, a beacon of ‘Effective Partnerships for Sustainable Development,’ will last three days and foster collaboration and innovation in the non-profit sector.

During his opening speech, the Minister lauded the remarkable achievements of the volunteers, whose number had soared to approximately 830,000 by the end of 2023.

He further revealed that concerted efforts are underway to achieve a target of one million volunteers, adding that the number of non-profit organizations has surged to 4,833 in the first quarter of this year. The Minister also underscored that the non-profit sector’s contribution to the gross domestic product sta
nds at about 0.87%, with ambitious plans to elevate it to 5% by 2030.

On the inaugural day of the exhibition, a staggering 40 agreements were inked between government agencies and non-profit institutions and associations, a testament to the immediate and tangible impact of the event.
