Doha: HE Minister of Interior, Commander of the Internal Security Force “Lekhwiya” and Chairman of the Security Committee, Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani chaired the second meeting of the Security Committee of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) at the Ministry of Interior headquarters, attended by Their Excellencies and senior members from military and security entities.
According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting focused on enhancing security strategies for major events hosted by the State. Discussions included ongoing preparations for upcoming tournaments and international sporting events, such as the Formula 1 Qatar Airways Qatar Grand Prix 2025, the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025, and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup.
The committee also discussed Qatar’s role in securing the Winter Olympic Games 2026 in Italy and the FIFA World Cup 2026 in the United States. Additionally, updates were reviewed regarding Qatar’s bid for the 2036 Olympic Games, emphasizing the need for comprehensive coordination and high readiness among all involved entities.
