Doha: The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, represented by the Wildlife Development Department, has ramped up its field inspection tours across numerous natural resource extraction and processing sites, including sand, clay, and limestone quarries, as well as cement plants and sand-washing facilities. The initiative focuses on ensuring that these sites operate in line with the applicable environmental laws and regulations.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Ministry's inspections aim to monitor the status of these sites, record technical observations, and coordinate with relevant authorities to address any detected violations. Dr. Dhafi Haidan, Assistant Director of the Wildlife Development Department, highlighted that these tours are integral to the Ministry's periodic inspection and monitoring programs. The programs target quarries, crushers, cement-mixing plants, and sand-processing facilities, underlining the Ministry's commitment to the rational use of natural resources and ensuring compliance with environmental requirements specified in the permits.
The Department's specialized teams work diligently to verify the soundness of procedures in the extraction and transportation of natural materials, while also monitoring practices that could impact the soil, surrounding habitats, or environmental components at these sites.
