Qatar Condemns Iranian and Israeli Attacks, Supports Regional Stability Efforts

Doha: In a recent editorial, Al-Sharq newspaper emphasized Qatar's strong condemnation of the repeated Iranian attacks on Kuwait and Bahrain, expressing full solidarity with these countries and supporting all measures they take to preserve their sovereignty and security. Additionally, Qatar continues to promote joint efforts with its allies to back Pakistani mediation efforts aimed at halting the war and preventing further escalation in the region. Qatar has consistently stressed the importance of sparing the region from the negative consequences of these unjustified attacks and working toward de-escalation to restore regional and international security and stability.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Watan newspaper echoed similar sentiments, stating that Iran's targeting of Kuwait and Bahrain poses a threat to regional stability. The newspaper highlighted Qatar's condemnation of these attacks, viewing them as a blatant violation of sovereignty, a breach of international law, and an unacceptable escalation. Al-Watan also condemned the Israeli attack on a Lebanese army patrol, which resulted in the deaths of two officers and a soldier. Qatar deemed this attack a dangerous escalation and a violation of Lebanese sovereignty, urging the international community to compel Israeli authorities to cease their attacks on Lebanon. The editorial concluded by emphasizing the need for dialogue and diplomatic efforts to address ongoing regional developments.

Meanwhile, The Peninsula reported on an agreement between the Qatar Football Association and the Social and Sport Contribution Fund (Daam) aimed at coordinating logistics, travel planning, and supporter mobilization for a tournament in North America. The agreement will see Qatari fans traveling as a coordinated delegation, with around 1,000 supporters, including fans, media representatives, and players' families, supported through arrangements for flights, accommodation, and transport across the United States and Canada. This initiative, known as the Maroon Stand, seeks to ensure a consistent presence of Qatari supporters at every match, enhancing the atmosphere and energy around the team.

The Peninsula further noted that Daam's role is crucial in removing financial and logistical barriers for international supporters. By funding travel, accommodation, and movement between venues, the agreement aims to ensure wider access and create a visible national presence in every host city where Qatar plays.
