MOCI Closes Car Company’s Showroom for One Month

Doha: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) issued Administrative Decision No. (25/2025) to administratively close a car company's showroom located in The Pearl for a month. The closure was imposed for violating Article (16) of Law No. (8) of 2008 on Consumer Protection and its Executive Regulations.

According to Qatar News Agency, a statement issued by the Ministry Wednesday explained that the decision to close the United Cars Almana showroom in The Pearl was a result of the company's failure to provide spare parts and delays in providing after-sales services, which constitutes a clear violation of the provisions of the law. The statement added that the number of violations recorded against the company reached (18) of the same type, which necessitated the administrative closure procedure to preserve consumer rights and ensure service providers' adherence to quality and transparency standards.

The Ministry affirmed that this measure is part of its ongoing efforts to monitor markets and ensure suppliers' compliance with applicable laws and regulations. It emphasized that it will not tolerate any violations that violate consumer rights or harm the business environment in the country. The Ministry calls on all citizens and residents to report any violations or illegal practices through its call center on 16001 or via its official social media accounts.
