MoEHE and Qatar Charity Conclude Successful School Fundraising Initiative

Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) and Qatar Charity (QC) have successfully concluded the "Generational Impact Maker Challenge" initiative and its accompanying charity exhibition, which featured participation from 90 government schools to raise funds for building a school in Syria.

According to Qatar News Agency, the event was held under the patronage and presence of HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater and CEO of Qatar Charity Yousuf bin Ahmed Al Kuwari. HE Al Khater commended the initiative for aligning with the ministry's vision to instill humanitarian values and foster social responsibility among students. She emphasized that the initiative translated values into action, enhanced social awareness among students, and highlighted the importance of volunteerism.

Al Kuwari expressed satisfaction with the strong participation, involving 90 boys' and girls' schools, along with active engagement from families, teachers, and staff. He noted that the challenge successfully fostered students' awareness of giving and social responsibility, resulting in the successful funding of a school for children affected by the crisis in Syria.

The event featured diverse segments, including a student-performed musical operetta and a video showcasing the schools' achievements. It included 85 awareness workshops promoting charitable values and more than 60 cultural, artistic, and sports activities by students in support of the initiative.

At the ceremony's conclusion, HE Al Khater presented awards to the winning schools. Al-Bayan Primary School for Girls received the award for the highest fundraising, while Al-Shaymaa Secondary School for Girls and Doha Preparatory School for Boys were honored for the best awareness activities. Al-Khor Preparatory School for Girls and Qatar Primary School for Boys were recognized for outstanding reporting and monthly follow-up.

Following the ceremony, HE Al Khater and Al Kuwari inaugurated the exhibition and toured students' and partners' booths. The exhibition featured 20 booths, showcasing handmade crafts and an art gallery with students' creative paintings for sale, with proceeds donated to charitable causes.

Other bodies, such as the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the Ministry of Justice, Dakkaken Group, Lusail Studios, Tarbeya Center, and FMM Company, participated with awareness booths focusing on charitable work and community service. The exhibition was open to the public from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

In line with Qatar National Vision 2030's social development goals, the "Generational Impact Maker Challenge" initiative aims to promote global engagement and develop students' skills in humanitarian and community action. Launched in October 2024, it successfully funded the construction of a school for internally displaced persons in Syria through innovative fundraising and awareness activities.
