Gaza City: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has issued a warning about the imminent collapse of the healthcare sector in the Gaza Strip. This warning comes in response to the Israeli Occupation’s direct attacks on hospitals, ongoing power outages, and the shortage of essential medicines and fuel required to operate generators, which collectively threaten a humanitarian crisis.
According to Qatar News Agency, the OIC has strongly condemned the bombing of the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in the Gaza Strip by Israeli forces. The organization described this attack as a war crime and a blatant violation of both international law and international humanitarian law.
In its statement, the OIC reiterated its call for urgent intervention by the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council. The organization emphasized the need for a ceasefire and the importance of ensuring the delivery of medical supplies, relief efforts, humanitarian aid, and essential necessities to the affected region.
The bombing of Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital, a primary healthcare facility in Gaza City, by the Israeli occupation army led to its closure and caused a complete power outage, exacerbating the dire situation in the area.
