Pakistan Prime Minister Engages German and Austrian Leaders on US-Iran Ceasefire

Islamabad: Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held phone calls today with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker to discuss efforts to ensure the continuation of the ceasefire between Iran and the United States.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Pakistani Prime Minister expressed deep concern during his call with the German Chancellor over the ongoing hostilities in Lebanon. Both leaders agreed on the critical importance of adhering to the ceasefire until the negotiations in Islamabad between the United States and Iran yield tangible and lasting results.

In a separate phone call with the Austrian Chancellor, the Pakistani Prime Minister also discussed the importance of all parties committing to the ceasefire between the United States and Iran. These discussions come ahead of announced negotiations in Islamabad, where delegations from the United States and Iran are expected on Friday to work towards a final agreement.
