Doha: HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi received a telephone call from HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Peru, Hugo de Zela. The call centered on the latest developments in the region following the ceasefire agreement between the US and the Islamic Republic of Iran, alongside other mutual interests.
According to Qatar News Agency, during the conversation, HE Al Muraikhi reiterated Qatar's support for the ceasefire agreement, emphasizing the importance of leveraging this opportunity to avert further regional tensions. He highlighted the necessity of safeguarding maritime routes and ensuring the freedom of navigation and international trade under international law, which plays a crucial role in sustaining regional stability and global supply chains.
HE Hugo de Zela, the Peruvian Foreign Minister, conveyed his country's solidarity with Qatar amidst the ongoing regional developments.
