Doha: The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has announced the commencement of applications for the Medical Fitness Certificate required by individuals planning to undertake the Hajj pilgrimage this year. This initiative is in collaboration with the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs.
According to Qatar News Agency, PHCC is the exclusive authority responsible for issuing this certificate in Qatar. It has confirmed its readiness to provide this service online until October 31. The introduction of the online service through the Cerner Electronic Health Record (EHR) system aims to ensure efficient processing by securely linking the medical evaluation results with Awqaf. This process aligns with standards approved by the Ministry of Health of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Qatari Hajj Mission.
PHCC has stated that applicants can visit any Family Medicine Center for the certificate during morning and evening hours throughout the week. Appointments can be scheduled, but walk-in visits without prior booking are also accepted. The eligibility criteria, as determined by the relevant authorities, require that pilgrims be free of complex medical conditions such as end-organ failure, neurological or psychiatric disorders, dementia, high-risk or late-term pregnancy, and active infectious diseases or cancer under treatment.
