Baghdad: HE President of the Republic of Iraq Dr. Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid met Wednesday in Baghdad with HE Minister of Culture Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Thani.
According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting focused on strengthening cultural ties between Iraq and Qatar, aiming to promote cultural exchange and cooperation in various fields.
In the realm of aviation, the Acting President of Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA), Mohammed Faleh Al Hajri, held discussions with Azucena Zelaya, President of the Latin American Civil Aviation Commission (LACAC), and Jaime Binder, Secretary-General of LACAC. These discussions took place on the sidelines of the ICAO Facilitation Conference (FALC 2025) hosted in Doha, highlighting Qatar’s strategic role in international aviation dialogue.
Further strengthening Qatar’s aviation links, the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) engaged in talks with the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) to discuss existing cooperation in air transport. The discussions underlined mutual interests in enhancing connectivity and collaboration in the aviation sector.
Additionally, a panel discussion titled “Accessibility in International Civil Aviation” was held as part of the ICAO Facilitation Conference in Doha. This discussion addressed challenges and opportunities for individuals with disabilities and reduced mobility, aiming to improve their access to air transport services.
In other developments, Qatar Free Zones Authority (QFZ) was recently awarded three internationally renowned ISO certifications, recognizing its commitment to sustainability, energy efficiency, and workplace safety. Furthermore, Qatar Charity (QC) announced it has provided 5,635 tons of humanitarian aid to 1.75 million displaced persons in Sudan since the onset of conflict.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, urged individuals possessing dangerous animals and species to register them promptly through its website or designated email by April 22.
Lastly, in sports, Al Arabi maintained its lead in the Men’s General Handball League, Al Sailiya secured promotion to the Qatar Stars League’s Second Division, and the Ooredoo Qatar Major Premier Padel 2025 continued successfully in Doha. The Artistic Gymnastics World Cup also kicked off at Aspire Dome, drawing elite gymnasts from around the world.
