Qatar Becomes Sixth Member of Industrial Partnership for Sustainable Economic Development


Doha: HE Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al-Thani inaugurated a significant meeting of the Higher Committee for Industrial Partnership for Sustainable Economic Development in Doha, marking Qatar’s official inclusion as the sixth member of the partnership. This strategic alliance already includes the UAE, Jordan, Egypt, Bahrain, and Morocco.



According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting underscored the importance of Qatar’s entry into the partnership, highlighting its competitive edge, robust economic potential, and advanced infrastructure. These elements are expected to bolster joint projects and promote economic growth and industrial cooperation among member states. The partnership aims to stimulate industrial and commercial collaboration to achieve shared strategic economic goals.



The meeting also addressed Qatar’s expected contributions to the partnership. Qatar is poised to play a vital role in providing investment opportunities, encouraging private sector involvement, facilitating capital flow, and enhancing intra-trade among member states. This aligns with Qatar’s strategic vision to foster regional cooperation and sustainable development.



Additionally, the meeting celebrated the accession of the Republic of Turkiye to the partnership, bringing added value due to its promising economic potential. This expansion signifies the member states’ commitment to enhancing industrial cooperation and achieving the partnership’s developmental objectives.



HE Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al-Thani emphasized that the partnership represents a new phase of economic collaboration among the member countries. The minister highlighted the industrial sector’s role in stimulating economic growth and creating opportunities for self-sufficiency in key sectors to face global economic challenges.



Several other dignitaries, including HE UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, lauded the expansion of the partnership. They noted the substantial economic and industrial capabilities that Qatar and Turkiye bring, which are expected to enhance industrial integration and open new markets for member countries.



HE Minister of Industry and Commerce of Bahrain, Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, pointed out that Qatar and Turkiye’s extensive experience in advanced industries would be crucial in enhancing industrial integration and economic value within the partnership. The minister noted that the partnership has evolved into a promising regional economic and industrial alliance.



HE Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport of Egypt, Lt. Gen. Eng. Kamil Abdel Hady Al Wazir, also expressed support for the partnership, underscoring the need for industrial cooperation to enhance competitiveness in global markets. He highlighted Egypt’s readiness to facilitate the partnership’s objectives through various incentives and support measures.



HE Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply of Jordan, Eng. Yarub Qudah, praised the inclusion of Qatar and Turkiye, stressing that it would promote economic integration and prosperity across the region. The minister emphasized the importance of regional cooperation in utilizing member states’ advantages to establish vital joint projects.



HE Minister of Industry and Trade of Morocco, Ryad Mezzour, expressed optimism about the partnership’s potential to enhance supply chain security and value among member countries. He welcomed Qatar and Turkiye’s involvement, which he believes will strengthen the alliance’s capacity to achieve sustainable industrial growth.



HE Minister of Industry and Technology of Turkiye, Mehmet Fatih Kacir, highlighted Turkiye’s strategic access to markets and its role in enhancing supply chain security. He expressed confidence that Turkiye’s capabilities would significantly contribute to the partnership’s strategic objectives, particularly in diversifying economies and integrating global supply chains.



The meeting concluded with commitments from member states to continue fostering an environment conducive to industrial growth and cooperation, setting the stage for further economic integration and development in the region.
