Qatar Cabinet Reaffirms Solidarity with Saudi Arabia and Highlights National Achievements

Doha:The Cabinet meeting chaired by HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani at the Amiri Diwan focused on several key issues.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Cabinet began by condemning the Houthi group's attack on an electricity distribution station in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, emphasizing that it violated the sanctity of Islamic holy sites and endangered civilian lives. The Cabinet expressed Qatar's full support for Saudi Arabia, backing its measures to protect sovereignty and security, and reiterated the interconnected security of Qatar and the Gulf Cooperation Council states.

In addition, the Cabinet acknowledged Qatar's top performance in the Global Innovation Index 2026 by the World Intellectual Property Organization. Highlighting Qatar's global and regional leadership in the General Infrastructure and Tertiary Inbound Mobility indicators, the Cabinet noted that these successes reflect strategic planning and efforts towards achieving Qatar National Vision 2030.

On World Teachers' Day, the Cabinet expressed gratitude to educators for their essential role in shaping future generations and affirmed education as a key priority under Qatar National Vision 2030.

The Cabinet also approved a draft decision concerning the management of naturally occurring radioactive materials in the oil and gas industry, developed by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change in collaboration with QatarEnergy. This decision aims to ensure safety standards align with international guidelines.

Additionally, the Cabinet reviewed proposals from the Shura Council to enhance the social and cultural roles of sports clubs in Qatar. These proposals, focused on expanding community programs and fostering national identity, were approved for implementation by the Ministry of Sports and Youth.

The meeting concluded with the Cabinet reviewing reports on international engagements by Qatari ministers, including municipal affairs and foreign trade, and decided on further actions.
