Doha:More than 12,000 individuals are anticipated to register for Qatar's Hajj season in 2027, as reported by the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs.
According to Qatar News Agency, Ali Al Misifri, the director of the Hajj and Umrah Affairs Department, noted a significant increase in registration since it commenced on September 20. The registration period will close on October 20.
The selection of applicants will be conducted electronically through a draw slated for the end of October. This process aims to maintain transparency and provide equal opportunities for all applicants.
Successful candidates will receive notification via text message and will have one week to finalize arrangements with an authorized Hajj campaign. They are required to make an advance payment of QR10,000, which will be deducted from the overall cost.
Al Misifri also addressed technical issues affecting some applications, such as adding companions or male guardians and correcting residency or age details. Applicants experiencing these issues can reach out to the department's hotline at 132 during official working hours.
Furthermore, Qatar's Hajj registration system is integrated with the Ministry of Public Health, enabling medical fitness results to be reflected in the system within approximately 90 minutes.
Saudi authorities have imposed six health-related restrictions on pilgrims to safeguard public health, Al Misifri added.
