Qatar Charity Distributes Ramadan Food Baskets in Sudan Amid Ongoing Conflict

Doha: Field teams from Qatar Charity in Sudan have begun distributing Ramadan food baskets to orphans, needy families, and displaced people due to the ongoing conflict. This initiative is part of their "Giving Lives On" campaign for the year 1446H (2025), which is being implemented in 40 countries worldwide.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) has announced several initiatives, including the conclusion of the 11th Ramadan dialogue program 'Wa Amenhum mein Khawf' at the Imam Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab Mosque. The ministry, represented by the Mosques Administration, also inaugurated the Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Shamsan Al Sada Mosque in the Al Ruwais area.

The General Directorate of Endowments at Awqaf has confirmed the continuation of its partnership with the "Flower Each Spring" program for 2025. Meanwhile, Qatar Charity has extended its humanitarian aid efforts to the Tata region of Morocco, which was recently affected by floods causing both human and material losses.

The Doha Film Institute (DFI) has announced that the 11th edition of Qumra will welcome over 250 film industry professionals to mentor emerging talent and provide creative feedback and business advice. In the health sector, the Qatar Diabetes Association (QDA) has partnered with Awqaf to launch the 'safe fasting with diabetes' program, focusing on raising awareness about safe fasting during Ramadan for individuals with diabetes.

The Negdar initiative, backed by the Qatar Stars League (QSL) and other partners, continues its training sessions for children. In sports, the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) has been internationally certified in the Knowledge Management System ISO 30401. The ninth round of the Longines Qatar Equestrian Tour Hathab is set to commence, and Abdullah Sultan Al Qattan will continue as Qatar Bowling Federation President.

In handball, three matches are scheduled for the Qatari Men's Handball League sports season, with teams Al Arabi, Al Ahli, Al Sadd, Al Gharafa, Al Shamal, and Al Rayyan competing.
