Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani engaged in a significant diplomatic communication on Thursday, speaking via phone with HE President of the Republic of Lebanon General Joseph Aoun. The call comes at a time of heightened regional tension following the outbreak of conflict in Lebanon earlier this month.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Lebanese Minister of Economy and Trade, Dr. Amer Bisat, has indicated that Lebanon is currently navigating a phase marked by caution and anticipation. This situation arises from concerns over regional instability, which have been prevalent since the onset of the war on March 2. Dr. Bisat highlighted that emergency plans, which were prepared in advance, have been implemented promptly in response to the conflict.
In other diplomatic developments, HE Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania, Ferit Hoxha, held a meeting with HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Albania, Jabor bin Ali Al Dosari. On the same day, HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani received a phone call from HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Portugal, Paulo Rangel.
Economically, the Department of Real Estate Registration at the Ministry of Justice reported that the volume of real estate trading in sales contracts reached QAR 647,172,185 during the period from March 29 to April 2, 2026. This reflects ongoing activity in Qatar's real estate market despite regional uncertainties.
Qatar also participated actively in international forums, including the 2nd extraordinary meeting of Their Excellencies Undersecretaries of the GCC Ministries of Information, conducted via video conference. In addition, Qatar emphasized the need for collective international efforts to dismantle the remnants of the former Syrian regime's chemical weapons program, commending the Syrian Arab Republic for its cooperation with international organizations and partners.
Moreover, HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Korea, Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Hamar, joined a meeting with HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance and Economy of the Republic of Korea, Koo Yun-cheol, alongside the heads of diplomatic missions of the GCC countries accredited to Korea.
