Qatar Engages in GCC Financial and Economic Discussions in Bahrain

Manama:The State of Qatar took part in the 126th Meeting of the Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), convened on Thursday in Bahrain.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Qatari delegation was led by HE Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari. The meeting's agenda included a review of the outcomes from various committees, including the GCC Central Banks Governors' Committee, the Customs Union Authority, and the Committee of Heads and Directors of Tax Departments, as well as the Gulf Common Market Committee.

Discussions also focused on the General Secretariat's report concerning regional and international economic developments and strategies for implementing decisions to counter harmful practices in international trade. Furthermore, the meeting evaluated the progress of free trade agreement negotiations between GCC states and other countries and international blocs, and assessed advancements towards achieving comprehensive economic unity among the GCC nations.
