German and Qatari Partnership Strengthens in Technological Leadership

Doha:German Ambassador Oliver Owcza emphasized that Qatar and Germany have all the necessary elements to establish a strong partnership in technological leadership, focusing particularly on industrial artificial intelligence and future technologies.

According to Qatar News Agency, this statement was made during the opening session of the German Tech Talks in Qatar. The event was hosted by Siemens in partnership with the German Embassy, and supported by the German Industry and Commerce Office (AHK), under the theme 'Industrial AI and the technologies shaping the future.'

Ambassador Owcza stated that the German Tech Talks aim to leverage the strengths and distinctive capabilities of both countries, creating a platform for exchanging insights on emerging technologies.

Hakan Ozdemir, CEO of Siemens in Qatar and CEO of Siemens Middle East - Smart Infrastructure, expressed pride in hosting the inaugural session in partnership with the German Embassy. He remarked that as Qatar moves towards the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030, industrial AI plays a crucial role in supporting the national economy by acting as an intelligence layer within the infrastructure.

Ozdemir noted that Siemens aims to transform technology into measurable results through industrial AI, integrating engineering, digitalization, cybersecurity, and data to build smart, sustainable, and resilient infrastructure.

The session was attended by representatives from Qatari government entities, entrepreneurs, policymakers, industry experts, researchers, innovators, and academia. It is part of a broader initiative by the German Embassy to deepen the 55-year bilateral cooperation between Germany and Qatar by fostering knowledge exchange in technological leadership.
