Qatar News Agency Marks 50 Years of Distinguished News Reporting

Doha: Over the past 50 years and since its establishment under the Amiri Decree No. 94 of 1975, Qatar News Agency (QNA) has been committed to objectivity, accuracy, and credibility to consolidate its position in the news field. QNA has provided written and visual news services through its various bulletins, available around the clock, and delivered to the recipient as quickly as possible, becoming one of the most prominent and powerful Arab and international news agencies.

According to Qatar News Agency, QNA provides its media services in words, pictures, and videos through its main news bulletin, which is broadcast 24/7 in five international languages: Arabic, English, French, German, and Spanish. The agency also offers its news bulletins in 29 languages on its website.

For five decades, the agency's bulletin has played a pivotal role in transmitting and documenting events, serving as a reliable source of information for local and international media outlets. The rapid development of its technical and editorial structure in recent years has led to a qualitative leap in performance and coverage volume, with plans to reach 400 news items daily in 2024, broadcasted in various languages. This reflects the agency's growing global presence and its ability to keep pace with modern media requirements.

In September 2022, QNA expanded its linguistic reach by launching news services in French, German, and Spanish, available through its new smartphone application, QNA News2. Additionally, in October 2022, QNA introduced a service for persons with disabilities on its website and app, facilitating access to news in both audio and video formats for a broader audience.

QNA has continuously developed its structure, staff, equipment, and technologies, aligning with the latest advancements in digital media. This progress has enhanced its broadcasts' form, content, and coverage both locally and globally.

To further its reach, QNA has embraced digital platforms, maintaining active accounts on Facebook, X (formerly known as Twitter), Instagram, Telegram, Snapchat, and WhatsApp, along with a YouTube channel. These platforms serve as powerful tools for disseminating news and enable instant audience communication, offering diverse forms of news content like images, videos, and infographics, which help clarify events and trends.
