Qatar Participates in Riyadh Justice Conference Focused on Judicial Quality


Riyadh: The State of Qatar is participating in the Second International Conference on Justice, which commenced Sunday and is held under the patronage of HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Muhannadi heads the State of Qatar’s delegation to the two-day conference.



According to Qatar News Agency, in his speech on this occasion, His Excellency affirmed the importance the State of Qatar places on achieving quality in judicial work and its strong commitment to developing its justice system. He noted that this has contributed to Qatar leading the Quality of Judicial Process Index in the World Bank Group’s annual Doing Business report.



His Excellency also highlighted the positive outcomes achieved through the national initiative for the development of justice systems’ initiatives and programs, the enhancement of digital justice, and the establishment of the Investment and Commerce Court. He stated that this conference serves as an important international platform for exchanging successful experiences and building legal partnerships that help address emerging and evolving challenges facing judicial sectors.



HE the Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs further noted the role of the attorneys in supporting judicial quality by promoting professionalism and developing legal work mechanisms. His Excellency said that digital transformation has become a cornerstone of improving judicial quality, as modern technologies facilitate procedures and enhance communication among the judicial system’s bodies, thereby achieving efficiency, transparency, and public trust in the legal framework.



He stressed the need to benefit from modern mechanisms of international judicial cooperation in civil and commercial matters, especially amid the growing flow of global trade, overlapping legal systems, and rapid technological development. He praised the level of legal partnership and judicial cooperation between the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.



The conference brings together a distinguished group of experts, specialists, and researchers in legal and judicial affairs from various countries to discuss judicial quality and ways to enhance it, being one of the most important pillars of ensuring justice and the rule of law. Over its two days, the conference will address a range of topics, including the development of legislative systems and their role in promoting judicial quality; the evolution of judicial procedures and their impact on quality protection; standards and indicators for measuring judicial quality; achieving quality in alternative dispute resolution mechanisms; the role of the legal profession in ensuring judicial quality; digital transformation to enhance quality; and modern mechanisms of civil and commercial judicial cooperation.



The conference will also review methods of achieving preventive justice, discuss the challenges facing the judicial sector in the field of judicial quality and ways to address them, and promote the exchange of experiences in judicial quality through building partnerships and developing human capacities in this field.
