Doha: The Qatar Philatelic and Numismatic Center, affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, hosted its 27th annual auction featuring stamps and coins at its new headquarters. The event showcased 262 items, including stamps, coins, covers, albums, and first editions.
According to Qatar News Agency, Director Hussein Rajab Al Ismail remarked on the auction's significant participation from collectors and enthusiasts across the Gulf and Arab regions, including countries like Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Jordan, Yemen, and Lebanon. He emphasized the Center's dedication to offering rare items that appeal to collectors' interests.
Al Ismail also highlighted the diverse range of auction items, including stamps, covers, and various banknotes and coins in gold and silver. He shared that the Center's program this year includes local and international events, such as a major international stamp and coin exhibition in Doha with participation from 16 countries.
The Center plans to participate in several exhibitions, including the Doha International Book Fair, the Macau International Stamp Exhibition 2026, the Asian International Stamp Exhibition in Indonesia, the Sharjah Stamp Exhibition, and the Taipei International Philatelic Exhibition.
The Qatar Philatelic and Numismatic Center aims to promote stamp and coin collecting, working to raise standards and create opportunities for development through various exhibitions and events.
