Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani highlighted Qatar’s commitment to Lebanon’s progress and development during a meeting with HE President of the Republic of Lebanon General Joseph Aoun. The official talks, held at the Amiri Diwan, focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in energy, economy, and investment.
According to Qatar News Agency, HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser attended a celebratory event at Georgetown University in Qatar, marking two decades of collaboration in Education City. Meanwhile, HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani held discussions with a US Congress delegation, led by HE Representative Adam Smith, and met with HE Mayor of Rio de Janeiro Eduardo Paes during their visits to Qatar.
HE Prime Minister also met with US Secretary of Energy Chris Wright, who was visiting Qatar for the first time. Additionally, the State of Qatar announced the arrival of 19 families from Russia and Ukraine in Doha, who will receive healthcare and support services. In another development, Qatar condemned attempts to destabilize Jordan’s national security.
The State of Qatar participated in significant international meetings, including a panel discussion at the United Nations on the legacy of the Copenhagen Declaration and a joint ministerial meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council and Central Asian nations in Kuwait. Qatar also hosted the 12th Meeting of the GCC Follow-up Team, focusing on Sustainable Development Goal 4, and supported a UNESCO resolution for protecting cultural and educational sectors in Sudan.
