Doha: The State of Qatar has renewed its call for international action to protect Palestinian families and enhance their resilience. This stance is a fundamental aspect of Qatar’s foreign and humanitarian policy, as emphasized by HE Minister of Social Development and Family, Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, who highlighted directives from HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to support the Palestinian people and defend their legitimate rights.
According to Qatar News Agency, Her Excellency made her remarks during a side event titled “Social Protection, Inclusion and Justice: The Suffering of Palestinian Families Under Occupation,” organized by the Ministry of Social Development in the State of Palestine as part of the Second World Summit for Social Development held in Doha.
HE Buthaina Al Nuaimi called on the international community to adopt a firm position to halt the ongoing assaults on the Palestinian population. She emphasized the need for global protection of Palestinian families and the assurance of their rights to security, stability, housing, and a dignified life.
She warned that the Palestinian people are enduring a persistent humanitarian crisis due to long-term occupation and severe violations affecting families, women, and children. Al Nuaimi highlighted the ongoing aggression in the Gaza Strip, which has resulted in significant destruction of residential areas and infrastructure, exacerbating the social and economic plight.
Palestinian families face constant threats that undermine their security and stability, leading to widespread displacement, an increase in orphans and widows, and an urgent need for international intervention to protect the social fabric and ensure social justice for the Palestinian populace.
HE Al Nuaimi concluded by reiterating Qatar’s plea for unified global efforts to end the occupation and promote respect for human rights in Palestine. She stressed that supporting Palestinian families is both a human and moral duty, with the protection of human dignity serving as the cornerstone of genuine social development.
