Beirut: Israeli occupation forces carried out airstrikes on Thursday targeting multiple areas in southern Lebanon, as reported by Lebanese media. The attacks have resulted in several civilian injuries.
According to Qatar News Agency, the National News Agency (NNA) reported that the town of Aita Al Jabal was the first to be targeted, followed by an airstrike on Taybeh after previous threats were made against the town. Additionally, Israeli forces struck a building in Tairba within the Tyre district.
The Health Ministry’s Emergency Operations Center issued a statement confirming that the number of people injured as a result of the airstrikes on Tura, also in the Tyre district, has increased to eight.
A ceasefire agreement had been put into effect in southern Lebanon on November 27, 2024, mandating Israeli forces to withdraw from border villages within 60 days. Although the Beirut government later approved an extension of the deadline to February 18, Israeli forces have remained in five locations, continuing to violate the ceasefire.
