Doha: Al-Watan highlighted the meeting between HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani and Secretary of State of the United States of America Marco Rubio, stressing that the meeting was an opportunity to reaffirm the shared commitment to supporting regional security and enhancing international diplomacy. It added that efforts to reinstate a ceasefire agreement in Gaza and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid were also discussed during the meeting.
According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Watan concluded its editorial by emphasizing that these discussions fall within the framework of Qatar’s continuous efforts to reach solutions that will lead to a ceasefire in Gaza and the entry of humanitarian aid, especially in light of the unbearable suffering endured by the Palestinian people. In turn, The Peninsula newspaper said, in its editorial, that Israel’s continued bombing and blockade of all aid has led to conditions in the war-battered Gaza Strip deteriorating further, as it has been more than 50 days since Israel blocked entry of all aid into the besieged territory, deepening hunger and fears of famine.
The Peninsula noted that the State of Qatar has played a key role in helping achieve the previous ceasefire and continues to work towards that end, pointing out the meeting between HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani and Secretary of State of the United States of America Marco Rubio this week to discuss mediation efforts. Given the dire humanitarian conditions in Gaza, it is extremely crucial for both sides to return to the negotiation table and reach a ceasefire deal, the newspaper concluded.
On the domestic front, Al-Arab newspaper noted in its editorial that the State of Qatar has succeeded in building a high-level healthcare system by investing in the health and well-being of its population and striving for sustainability. It added that the strategic priority of integrating health into all policies, along with close cooperation among various sectors of the state, has contributed to making Qatar’s healthcare system exceptional and unique. The system revolves around the importance of universal health coverage for all members of society and the enhancement of services to the highest international standards, in alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030.
The editorial concluded by noting that the Hospital at Home program, which provides healthcare services at home, directly contributes to improving hospital workflow and reducing congestion in emergency departments.
